HandsFreeLink Problem
HandsFreeLink Problem
The problem i'm having is when someone calls me while i'm driving, i can't pick it up using HANDSFREE. It seems the only way i can use my HFL is when i make calls. I can't pick up calls while driving and instead i have to manually pick up my phone. However, when i do that it then connects to HFL but i can't speak to the person because they can't hear me. I can hear them but they can't hear me. I happen to have the Verizon Motorola RaZR V3m. I've had it for over a year now and it worked fine with my TSX until recently. Has anyone had this problem before? You guys think it's the phone?

I presume you've checked this site to ensure that it passed ALL the testing. (My Nokia 6682 works 95% fine, but it failed a lot of their testing.) In my quick check, looks like they're still testing your model (V3m), but most features are supported.
I concur, delete the pairing and pair again fresh. I also have an issue with transferring from my handset to the HFL ... probably the phone's idiosyncracy. I'm still doinking around with it to find the right method (initiate transfer to Bluetooth on the phone vs. HFL "Transfer" command).

If an i get an incoming call no HFL information would be shown in the speedometer area. Now, when i pick up the phone the HFL comes up. I can hear the person I'm talking to on the speakers but they can't hear me, the cell phone included. I already tried dropping my phone from HFL and delete the profile and even did a brand new profile with no results. I have a gut feeling it's my phone that's messing up. I just need a phone that 100% compatible w/ HFL. Thanks for your help though guys...opinions would be greatly appreciated.

It might be worthwhile to make sure your phone is running the latest software update too. I don't think Verizon updates their software that much, but it's worth a look on Verizon's site.

Verizon ... ack. They cripple their phones like crazy. Latest outrage is that they disable GPS on Blackberries, and image sending on other models.
My 6682 is not fully compat, and a response from HFL support was that during their "rigorous" testing, the 6682 failed many of the tests. But I can use it fine. So there's hope for you yet.
I'd recommend you get off Verizon. They suck. T-Mobile and Cingular/AT&T have had me a (relatively happy) customer since 1998. Not to start a flame war about carrier preference, but I get fancy phones for free off Amazon by signing up with one or the other.

I've personally been a big fan of verizon. I've had cingular and sprint in the past and had many problems with those particular carriers. I too don't want to start a carrier war but i think i'll just change my phone...it's old anyway.

Probably your best best, if they give you a "test drive" 14-day trial period. Got my
for you, as other Verizoners I know have complained about the cost of changing phones.
