HandsFree Link Bluetooth.....

Hello fellow Acura TSX enthusiasts,

I just recently purchased a 2006 TSX with Navi and the HandsFree Link Bluetooth and have a technical question: I can pair up my phone (iPhone 5) no problem; however, if I try and initiate a phone call though my phone, the call doesn't go though my Bluetooth but though the phone. I have to manually switch the speaker option back to the Bluetooth.

Is this somewhat of a common theme or is my Bluetooth system in the fritz?

Antonio

Nope, it's what Acura's do. My TL did the same thing. Annoying though, isn't it?

My 4S works fine on calls, but Siri won't work when paired with the car.

Are you physically using the iPhone to place the call and trying to use the TSX Bluetooth to do the 2-way audio? I've had two iPhones (3GS and 4GS) and this never seemed to work. The phone seems to take priority.

I have to place and receive iPhone call using the steering wheel controls. The only time I bypass the wheel controls is when I want to take/place a call directly from the iPhone.

Agreed, MrGold, you must use steering wheel/voice commands to make the call...but with Siri, even if I try to select HFL, it defaults back to iPhone and even then never provides audio.

I think you can have up to 5 phones paired to the Handsfree system. You might be at your max? Another problem I had was Blackberry and Apple did not play nice together when I tried to link both at the same time. I could pair for a few days and one would kick out the other after a while. Ended up sticking with one until I went all iPhones in the family. Zero problems with iPhone only pairings.

You might have one or two other phones paired that is keeping your Galaxy from working?

I don't know if there are bluetooth modules firmware updates from the dealership; but, it might be worth checking out.

I deleted all of the other phones that were linked (only 1). It can't find my phone... Maybe bluetooth on the car isn't compatible with the newest version in the phone? I don't know, it is only a little frustrating.

I hate this, even after the call is established I picked the car bluetooth as the communications means on the popup menu on the phone - and no combination of button presses on the steering wheel will transfer the damn call to the car.

My solution is to make all calls using Google Voice with "Click2Call" function on. It calls me first and then calls the person I'm trying to call, hence I can "answer" with the steering wheel button.

I have NO IDEA what Acura was thinking, did their QA dept test it ONCE? Even ONCE?
