Handsfree Issue

Hey guys,

I bought the TSX used equipped with GPS from a dealership. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not clear the handsfree/bluetooth passcode before selling the car.

I read on the manual on how to reset the passcode but unfortunately I think it only works if I actually knew the current passcode.

Is there anyway I can reset the passcode without actually getting into the system (as without the current passcode, the system seems to be locked).

Thank you so much for your help.

HDS is required to reset the passcode. If it was a Honda/Acura dealer, you should be able to get them to do it for free. You can try 888-528-7876, Acura Client Relations for HFL.

"Phone Setup" will only work from the main menu (not inside phone book, etc). Cancel out of HFL and make sure it's the first command you use. Then use the "pair" command. It will ask you for a 4-digit passcode...say any number you want. When it starts looking for your phone, make sure it is discoverable, and then type in the same 4-digit pass code. It should then continue on and ask you what you want to name that phone (since you can have multiple phones paired with the system).

As for the OP's question, I can't imagine the HFL system insisting on a pass code. I would just go in there, delete/unpair all of the cell phones, and then try from scratch. The pass code is a number used in the meantime during the pairing process so that the system can identify which phone to pair with (in case there are several nearby phones).
