Navi question.

I have 2004 TSX with navi. I was always under impression that this is the best navi so far.
Recently I've got a new toy, Dell AXIM PDA with a Bluetooth GPS attachment, so I've decided to compare it to the stock unit.
To be honest I was a little disappointed with TSX unit, but may be I don't know something so please share with me your experience:
Stock unit advantage:
It always ready, big screen, continue to work for some time when no satellites are available (tunnels, covered parking space...)
Disadvantage:
Graphic is really poor compare to PDA was a real shock to me - no 3D options available, only plain maps with a little detail before it guided you to make a turn.
The response is much slower in Stock unit compare to PDA when you missed a turns (probably SD card works faster than DVD, but I'm not sure).
My TSX Navi DVD has a version from 2003, so may be new version is different.
But before I will go a head and buy new update, does any one can tell me if new updated version for 2004 TSX has 3D and some other cool options ? or it is all the same just a few new maps ?

the updates only update the maps.

You will see no new functionality.

 

You could tape the Axim to the dashboard. :shrugs:

Seriously though, the Acura nav system is adequate and quite effective. The original DVD is really outdated and in serious need for an update. For me, I will wait another year to do that...I think by then I will be sure how much longer I will keep the tsx.

 

You right, using PDA is a pain in the neck, as I mentioned the stock unit is always ready and it is a big plus. just a little upset that it is not as fast and advanced as
today's simple program loaded PDA.
From what I've red the only new option aded to upgaraded navi DVD is a satellite radio control.
