got hit

a stupid woman hit me while i was stopping in the red light, she went panic when a firefighter wanna get pass through her. she pushed my car forward, made me to pull the handbrake or i would hit the car in front of me.
got hit at the right corner rear bumper,
her insurance already estimated my damage, and only pay about 600$,
they just wanna repaint the bumper... i asked the dealer, they said i need to get a new bumper, couse it got hit in the corner..
what u guys think? is it necessary to get a new bumper?
btw, i'm still new in here, how do i post an image?

How to post pictures

I would ask or demand a new bumper if the insurance company hedges. Just get a quote from a Acura body shop.

The insurance company will provide the remaining balance of whatever the cost is, all the body shop has to do is contact them and give them the claim number for any additional charges.

Wait a second, HER insurance company estimated your damage? Why didn't you go through your own? You need to get a better estimate there or you'll be SOL. Go to a shop you approve of and get a real estimate.

i think he did the right thing
if op went to his own insurance company op would have a record that he is in an accident...regardless whose fault is it....

so.....don't call ur own insurance company.
unless you are at fault.

Not true... his insurance company has the responsibility and the power to obtain the maximum compensation from Geico

Can't that be considered insurance fraud? I know up here all accidents no matter how minor must be reported to your insurance company even if you do not intend to claim. It's in the policy.

I don't think you have much to worry since it doesn't look like your not at fault.

Regardless, if Geico is paying out, you can be sure it will most likely be on your record whether you tell your own insurance or now.

I don't know how it works in TX but in CA we have no fault insurance. Here the first thing you do is DON'T talk to her insurance company. Inform your carrier, get at least two estimates and YOU pick where to get your car fixed. Because she hit you she pays and your rates should not go up. By the time you're done I'll bet the bill will be around $2K. BTW - Always try to get a police report to bolster your case and don't agree to nor sign anything until you're made whole.

Good Luck and stick to your guns!

Sic your insurance company on her. That's what you pay all those premiums for. From the pic, it looks like you should get a new bumper and whatever else is damaged. In fact, insist on it.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but I found this thread because I had a minor bumper-bender this morning. No other damage was apparent, so I thought, if the insurance will pay for a replacement rear bumper, why don't I get an aftermarket bumper? Maybe not quite Mugen, but Raven or JDM or whatever. That way, I'm quarter of the way to the new body kit?

Would that work? And what are some of the favorite body kits around her (besides Mugen)?

do not let her insurance companies rip you off... insurance companies are designed to rip people off and pay as low as possible...while maximizing profits..

take ur car to the worlds best dealer you can find...get an estimate..get a repair bill..present it to her, her insurance company. if they refuse, take them to court. End of story. Your case will hold up 100% no matter what as long as the dealer says what needs to be replaced.

Just make sure you bring in also an estimate and affidavit stating what the collision caused to the tsx... wut if the dealer finds out ur axle was also bent =]] ya never know.
