Glass and Bumper fix
Some one broke into my car this morning by smashing the passenger window. The audio alarms dont kick in until you try to open the doors so no one noticed. Not sure if they kicked the rear bumper too on their way out, but it was dangling too (about one third of it came off). So the question is what the best place/price for this fix?
My insurance company (esurance) still wants this to come out of the deductible first...<sigh>

The factory alarm system is mostly to prevent your car from being stolen; it is a passive alarm and therefore will not actively prevent theft. You will need an aftermarket alarm if you want more protection.
Unless you have proof as to who did it, you will have to pay the deductible. The deductible is always paid unless you have someone else that they can run after for the deductible.
Get quotes from several places, including the place that your dealership recommends. If it's more than your deductible, I'd go for the one with the highest quote so that you can get your money's worth (the insurance company will try to reduce their costs as much as possible...Mercury Insurance refused to replace my grille even though it was obviously damaged by whoever hit my parked car).

The stock alarm doesnt' have a glass breakage microphone? Sheez my 92 Accord I got had the factory alarm on it. It was extremely primative and one of the first years it was offered, and it had a glass breakage microphone that could hear the frequency of the glass, and it when it was broken it could detect the change, and it would set off the alarm.
