Getting a not so comfortable ride

Hey there i'm new to these forums and I don't have much "in-depth" knowledge about cars so bare with me. So I have a 2005 tsx and lately I have been feeling that the car is not providing me with a smooth ride anymore, I'm feeling a lot of the bumps in the road and I don't remember my car ever being this way (I've had it for 2 years). I'm not too sure if there might be something wrong with my shocks or if its just something tsx's are known for. The only reason I could think of this happening is that I drove the car on a regular basis during a pretty harsh winter season, where as the winter before that it was pretty much just stored in the garage most of the time. Is there something wrong with my shocks or is it just me?

If you believe that your struts are blown, there is a easy way to tell other than crawling under the car to see if they are blown. Push down on each corner of the car, if it pogos up and down then its blown. If they don't pogo and have some resistance going down and up, your struts are fine

It could be the tires wearing down. I find my ride to just be too harsh since the day I got the car, but I suspect the tires have a lot to do with it. Mine aren't worn down, but I hear replacing the stock tires makes the ride more comfortable (depending on the type of replacement of course)

Check your tire pressure. How many miles do you have?

Thirdlane: So if the struts are ok I should be able to just push down on each corner and the car will pop back up?

Tsx536: My tire pressure is ok 35psi from and 30psi in the back, and I have about 36000 km which is about 22400 miles.

The car should come back up and quickly settle down. If it bounces more than once, you might have a problem.

What are the condition of the tires? Fiddling with the pressure can make improvements. I think 32 psi all around is a good baseline.

If the struts are OK, it should come back up rather slowly and smoothly. If it comes up and pogos, then your strut is blown.

^^ the manufactureres recommendation for the OEM tires is 32F, 30R. 35F makes a difference but I don't think enough for one to "feel all the bumps".

I would have put 33F and 33R. No point putting the front much higher than the rear, especially in summer.

^^ I thought the +2 psi in the front was to compensate for the TSX's heavier front weight bias.

(not trying to be argumentative)

Your stiffer front suspension should compensate for the heavier weight.
