Entire Nav & Screen out?

Can anyone help with this? My '05 TSX won't "boot" the Nav system. Screen turns on, displays the Nav startup screen and freezes there. It does try to reboot itself (goes black and Nav startup screen re-appears) but that's it.

Occassionally, it does advance to the "OK" screen, but the touch screen won't allow me to press the OK button. Then the system reboots again.

Any ideas/advice?

TIA

Changed the DVD in the last few years? If not, try a new one. Or ... just go to dealer and ask if you can try out a new one and see if it resolves it.

same thing happend to my '04. took it to the dealer and they ended up replacing the motherboard in the navi computer (dvd/pc in the trunk). Cost around $500. You can send it in to Pioneer (OEM) for about half of that.

Here's a thread link you may find useful in order to get a refurb unit from Alpine. I would call and confirm the info since the original post is about a year old now, but it should give you a starting place:
Here's the information snip from it:

OK - found the 1-800 to Alpine on the Acura TSB listed here:
http://photos.imageevent.com/astrobo...sb/B06-001.pdf

Called to get the details - it's $158 to refurbish the unit (I gave them them the part number listed above). No RMA number or anything is needed, just need to package it up well (UPS or FedEx are preferred to ensure proper tracking) and send it to:

Alpine Electronics
2012 Abalone Avenue
Unit D
Torrance, CA 90501

In the box, be sure to include your full name, return address, and day time telephone number, along with a description of the problem. You can also pre-pay via check or money order (I'm guessing payable to "Alpine Electronics", but not confirmed) or the lady on the phone said that you can wait and someone will call you with the details and they can take your credit card over the phone. It will be mailed back via UPS ground.

edit: Just noticed the previous post said 'Pioneer' not 'Alpine' - I have an '06 which is Alpine - maybe the '05's have Pioneer - sorry if that is the case. llwtsx

Same thing happened to my TSX yesterday on New Year day. Thought it was the Y2k10 bug. Took it to the dealer and they are giving me a new Navi unit under warranty next week. Hope everything is fine with the new unit because I did install the DOM navi unit...

I'm sure mine needs a refurb. I know I removed it once and managed to get inside and clean the laser area - it has a plastic haze over it. That helped for a while but now after about every 10 car starts the unit sometimes refuses to go past OK.

I just started having the same trouble. Took out the old disc and installed a new one. Now it re-boots itself constantly, doesn't track worth a damn and am at my wits end with it. Going to take it to the dealer next week.
