Engines sputtering i guess you can say...

When im revving at around 6700 rpms in 3rd gear it sputters back to 6500 and then throughout the rest of the powerband.. Does anyone know what this may be. i heard it may be the spark plugs but i dont know.

Geez, you've got me stumped. It has to be something with the tranny (3rd gear) otherwise the engine would be doing it in the other gears as well. Does it matter if you're at WOT (accelerating hard) or just holding 6700rpm at a steady speed?

Is the engine completely warmed up? If not, the fuel cut-off is lower.

95 mph at 3rd gear? I don't think you should tell acura that when you visit them...or else they might add a note to your record or something ;-P

could be the fuel pump - low pressure or low delivery capacity - only way to
effectively test would be with a pressure gauge on the system while you're
on the track. Maybe the dealer has a static test procedure thaat I don't know
about. Good luck.

Probably.

I'm still thinking it's running lean, but ... that "should" set a CEL.
Another possibility is the Buddy Club Condensor and T1R Groundwires
which I'm not familiar with.

How many miles on the car, and did this happen before the condenser and
groundwires were installed?

Are you using 89, 91 or 93 octane gas?

It can also be the torque convertor locking up, as shown on the dyno charts for an auto TSX on vtec.net.

Just chiming in here, I have an 06 5AT and I have never experienced this problem. I have taken it to redline in sport shift mode many times in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and a few times in 4th. I almost always use 91 octane Sunoco although a few times I have used 93 octane Mobil and 94 Shell.

All gasoline in my area is marked with this gasoline MAY contain up to 10% ethanol... not sure if that only applies to the cheap gas or not.

Hope this gives you some idea.. if you're doing the same things and having this problem I would take it to the dealer.

I have a similar problem in my 05AT. But mine happens at around 5500 rpms or so. I get to around that range and the RPMs just sit there and won't move past 5500.

That seems like torque converter lockup, but if it's not happening to anyone else, who knows…
