Engine noise when cruising (valve-train?), normal?
This is more of a question than problem (well, at least hopefully).
I've noticed a noise coming from the engine compartment when cruising that sounds like valve-train noise, almost lbut not quite like a faint spark knock. It's especially noticeable around 3000 RPM, but it's not all that loud -- there is so little wind noise that this is the second loudest noise I hear other than road noise.
It's loudest for the first 10-15 minutes or so of driving and then seems to get better. It definitely disappears if I push the clutch in, and varies somewhat with light throttle application, but I've also heard it when going down hill with my foot completely off the throttle, which is what made me think it was the valve-train. Also, the TSX valves are chain-driven, maybe this is what I'm hearing.
Anyone else notice this?
Also, does the TSX have self-adjusting valves?
