Emergency Brake Light Blinking
Emergency Brake Light Blinking
Yesterday I took my car in for an oil change at Criswell Acura in Annapolis, MD. When I took the car home driving at highway speeds, the emergency brake light on the instrument panel blinks and a beeping sound comes from somewhere. Yes I have checked and the emergency brake was released. Has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks,
Thanks,
Check your brake fluid level. If OK, the level switch in the cap that covers the reservoir may be the culprit. Give it a good shake to see if you can dislodge it. Let us know what you discover.
If all else fails, you can check the wire going to parking brake itself. It plugs into a flat connector at the base of the parking brake. This wire is looking for 0 volts (grounded) when engaged and positive voltage when it is disengaged. There a possibilty that the wire has come loose and is grounding itself out on something metal in the transmission area.
You'll have to remove the black plastic trim around the center transmission area though. Let me know if you need some removal directions.
When you engage and disengage the parking brake, then does the parking brake light go on and off?

I am also experiencing this problem, as well as the VSA light coming on and off at random intervals ... when I engage and disengage the eBrake, it does nothing to the light.
I'll check the parking brake connector tonight when I get home ...
