Electrical problem? please help!
Have a 2004 tsx with 92000 miles on it. Yesterday the ENGINE light came up and the side airbag light flashed for a few seconds, then the airbag sign went off but the check engine line stayed on. I stopped the car to make sure gas cap is snug which it was. After couple hours.. the orange Engine light went off.
Last night on the freeway driving, the car suddenly lost power for 1-2 seconds on the freeway, headlight off, stereo off, everything off, then the power came back on again. The engine did stop for a fraction of second then came back on and I was able to drive home without incident.
However, this morning when driving, all the light started to flash for 2 seconds then went off cept for the Engine light.
Now the car feels fine driving, I don't think its the battery problem. Just short of spending $$$$$$$$ to have mechanic hook my car up to check the problem, any suggestions or fixes?

Alternator wouldn't cause the headlights to go out all of the sudden and the engine to stop. There's also a different light for that.
I'd start with the fuse box connections. Just be very careful. They're hot even when the key's off. After that, check the battery connections and the engine grounding strap. If all else fails, check the ignition switch. My old Accord did something very similar (except the headlights, that's odd). Turns out the ignition switch was corroded and wasn't making contact anymore.

How old is the battery. I had, some years ago, a cell short out in the battery. All my lights went out whilst i was driving at night. No warning..Since then replace my battery frequently. A $100 dollar part and five mins to change out saves so much grief in the long run.

BUT the round copper head of the - cable was covered with the white powder inside and out, I used screw driver, clothes wiped it as clean as I could and put it back to the battery, heard some electrical buzz sparks which I assume means pretty decent connection and start the car. Lights were gone and did not appear, well at least for 5-10 mins. Hopefully my little episode means It just needs cleaning and the connection was bad. THanks again for the response, Ill post back here for further.

Thanks for the advise, simple but sound as well.
i've had this problem earlier this summer. i took it to acura and they could never figure out the problem even when i showed them the TSB about bad ground connection. best bet is to replace the ground/negative battery cable. go to autozone and buy it for 5bucks. after i replaced it i've never had the problem again.
