Ebay fog light lens with OEM Harness??
Ebay fog light lens with OEM Harness??
Hi guys, I've tried to do a search for this answer with no luck. I hope someone can help. I have an 04 TSX with OEM foggies. Like many of you, my lights are cracked and I want to replace them. OEM lens on ebay are like $200 for the pair. I was wondering if I can buy the knock off ebay fog light kit ($55 with shipping) and just use the lens but keep my OEM housing and switch. Will those lens work with the OEM harness and switch?? Any direction would be appreciated.
Ok, first off i'm not even sure there is a guarantee that they would fit together but let me tell you about my ebay fog light experience. I have it in another thread from awhile ago but i don't feel like searching, so here is the shortened version. I bought the cheapest one because i was cheap at the time, so the first thing was the the kit was missing some hardware it claimed it had and i had to use my own personal bolts to get them to stay in place. Once i got them to stay in place, i ran the wiring to find that the switch that came with them look HORRIBLE (you won't need to worry about this though) however, the wire is very different than the stock stuff. I went to the Honda dealership to order a wiring harness and a switch from a 2004 Honda accord (since it fits perfectly in the open slots next to the VSA button). I then had my friend who is an electrician, jerry rig the thing so that is worked, because otherwise it wouldn't work properly. Once i got it to work, i put the Rockblocker protectant on them and within about one month, there was so much condensation inside of them, it looked ridiculous.
On the other hand, i have heard that people have had success with the JDM fog ligs, which is not the kit that i bought. I bought one that claimed to be OEM and was like $35 plus shipping which came to like $55 that your talking about. Look at the JDM ones and otherwise, keep shopping man. However, you may get lucky so the $55 may be a good gamble as apposed to paying $200 for new OEM ones
