Drivers doorlock busted

So Im leaving my fathers house, press unlock on my key fob twice & every door except the driver door unlocks. So I unlock it with the key get in & press lock & unlock. The door lock wiggles but does not go down or up. Meanwhile the other doors lock & unlock. I open the door panel, check the plugs, & the cable ,no blockage...
Looks like I got a busted attenuator (sp)
FAWK!!!!
I called Rallye Acura of Roslyn New York made an appointment for tommorow @ 8:15am. So we will see if they replace it under warranty or will they blame it on my newly installed component speakers... Only time will tell. Ill keep you posted...

Hopefully it will be covered under warranty.

The dealer would have to prove how installing speakers broke the part in order for them not to cover it under warranty.

Good News & Bad News

Good: Its all covered under warranty it was the actuator(sp)

Bad: Stephen from service called & when the techs took the door mechanism out they somehow broke the latch... That is the latch that keeps the door closed. So my door wont close. Since its friday & they couldnt get the part, I have to wait until monday to get my car back. Sux

Hopefully they gave you a decent loaner in the meantime! BTW, great photos of your car. I have the same except non-nav. How much tint is that? Looks fantastic.

Edit: Nevermind, see it's 20% in your sig -- I'm a moron.

Thanks. No loaner!!! & it sucks not having a car for 3 days.
They should have rented me a car since they said they would have it back to me the same day but instead broke sum shyt & I get it 3 days later. Thats 8 hours of no car vs. 42 hours of no car. This is bullshyt. I have never been without a car for this long in all eight years of having a car. What an inconvienence. I know its not a quality issue with the car, & accidents due happen but FCUK. I have to take the train to work. It just takes so much more out of your life.

My driver-side rear door latch/lock mechanism/cable thingy whatever you call it came loose. Fixed under warranty! It was weird cause I had just people in the rear not too long before it came loose and it opened and closed fine. Then couple days later I had someone in the back and they could not open the door, so I thought the child safety lock was on, but it was not

Hey, This happened to me too, drivers side door knob wont budge or respond to the KEY FOB or the unlock/lock switches on the door. This was a week ago, now its ok. Hmm I tested in many many times, and its fine, wondering if I should go to the dealership even though it seems to fix itself

Hmmm... I have this on the passenger side. Wiggles a little, but doesn't unlock automatically most of the time. Getting it checked out during my next service.

Me too, passenger side front door. The lock sticks sometimes and you can tell that it is struggling to lock and unlock. I'm at 48500 miles and just brought it in yesterday. They are fixing under warranty and had to order a new attenuator. Should have the car back today. At first they were trying to say that it was related to my aftermarket alarm. I laughed at them and explained how the alarm is under the dash and just sends pulses to the existing wire to tell the door to unlock. I'm thinking he thought that it was directed connected to the door somehow.

no loaner?

CJ, did they give you any reason for not giving you a loaner? Did you press the issue? I too use Rallye Acura and I have always had no problems with them...but I've never needed a loaner.

Ugh, this happened to my drivers side front door lock yesterday. I get out and press the lock button twice on the keyfob but the lights don't flash and I hear no beep. I could see the passenger side locks working as I used the keyfob then notice the drivers side front door lock didn't budge.

I work away from home Mon-Fri and have no tools so I can't take a look at what's happening. It sounds like a lot of people reported the same problem in this thread so it's probably pointless to do look myself anyway since most seemed to require a new actuator.

Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to the dealer I go...

My driver's door lock was busted too. However, since I was out of the warranty, I ordered the part ($12) and fixed it myself. It was a painful 2 hours of work, in 95 degree heat...

On the positive note, the lock is working again!
