Doors lock automatically when ignition on

Hello,

I've managed to lock myself out of my car after changing my battery, luckily I had the extra key.

I start my car, get out of the car and shut the door and all the doors lock automatically, why is this happening as it didn't before?

Is there a way to reset this so the doors do not lock. This is a factory stock car with no mods.

There is a "feature" that if the doors are unlocked by the key fob and no door is opened - the doors lock themselves. This does not seem to be the case here but it is one way the car will lock the doors automatically

Yeah, that's what I thought it was going to be before I read the description of the problem, but obviously that's not it. Hmm.

Perhaps the disconnecting of the (old) battery and reconnecting the (new) battery has initiated that "auto-lock" sequence?

Did it happen more than once?

These first-gen TSXs didn't have an autolock feature other than the relock if you neglected to open the doors after you used the remote.

How much time passes from the time you close the door to the time it locks?

Does it lock when you turn the car on if the door is closed?

Does it lock after you turn the car on, with the door closed, when you put it in gear?

This sounds pretty crazy, but maybe you stumbled on an Easter Egg on auto-locking the doors. Tell us more about the "feature" so we can make a better guess at the problem.

Are you the original owner of the car?

If you're not, perhaps a previous owner added one
of the KP Technologies auto lock / unlocking modules
and it was reset/re-enabled because of the battery
change:

this same exact thing happend to me, since this past friday! i had no spare key and it locks as soon as the door is closed! only while the engine is running though. I can hear it click over to try and lock the door and it does this twice then after the door automatically locks by itself. Now the other doors wont open with the remote either! Has anyone else ever had this problem?!

usually means a bad door actuator. Trying unplugging one door actuator (probably driver side) and see if it auto locks as you shut the door. Had the same problem on my old 2001 Honda Prelude and it was the door actuator going bad that was causing the autolock.

Not trying to bump an old thread but i figured out the problem I was having. So, i was going through everything on the door. Checking all the switches for continuity and all connections. i finally got frustrated and when i was putting it back together i noticed that the plug that goes from my lock knob to the actuator wasn't clicking in place. after further investigation i noticed two seals in the plug. so i pulled one out and it clicked in and works flawlessly now. now i know that isn't going to be everyones problem but you can go from there and make sure that the knob switch is working by checking continuity and also the cylinder lock switch. hopefully this helps someone i really could've used this six months ago when the problem first arose.
