So I installed PIAA D2S bulbs today (6600k), after installing them I noticed some changes:
1. The line where it cuts off the bulbs from shining upward is now LOWER.
2. The bulbs seem to be shining further horizontally.

If anyone experienced similar problems with changing their D2S bulbs, or can diagnose if there is a problem from the changes i've noted, please let me know!

Since you just changed bulbs, unless you re-adjusted the fixture, your just seeing what a change in K does. At 6600K, you have more intense light, which is why you see more light output on the sides of the car, however as K increase, luminems (sp?) decreases. Your cut off line is not lower, but your eye probably see's it that way. I have 6000K in mine, and I'm going back to the OEM 4300K, I don't like the colour or visibility of 6000+ K.

 

ah ok, thx for putting my worrying to rest. yea in order to make-up for the loss of visibility i'm doing a 3000k HID conversion to my fog lights. that should compensate somewhat.

but thx soooo much ELSpool, was stressin over that last nite, i just figured something went wrong with the install! haha.
