creaking in the back when i go over bumps

hey guys...

i haven't been to this site in a while so good to hear its still alive.

i have an '04 TSX Navi with about 63,250 miles. At 60K, i started noticing this high pitched noise that would come and go. It seemed to be coming from the rear undercarriage of the car. it would start making the noise when id go over a big bump for about like 5 seconds, then id try to get rid of it by going over another bump if the sound sustains. its really pissing me off. haha

anyone have a similar issue?

Do you have any modifications done to your car at all? People who put on the comptech rear sway car usually experiences this creaking noise with the bushings and if your stock this may apply to you too. I would jack up the back of your car and inspect your rear sway bar bushings. If they look like they are still in good shape just take them off and add some lubrication. If they look pretty worn down, look into replacing them. If you are not mechanically inclined to do so, you can get some spray lubricant and spray them however, this will only help for a limited period of time. After having looked into this, if the problem in still there check back in

Also, if you don't know what to do when your looking at them, take a picture and post it and we can help you out.

hopefully all you'll need to do is lube up your bushings

LOL funny story... my friend had a slight creaking in the back of his 330i and it drove him nuts, the rest of us could barely hear it. So one day.. he rips out his entire rear, lubed EVERYTHING and glued some felt pieces to ensure that theres no friction hahahaha

I used to have similar problems when I would go into driveways at an angle (ie - making a right turn into a driveway).

Can you feel it in your shift knob? My bracket for the O2 sensor broke and was dangling. Bumping up against the heat shield for the CAT. Something to check.
