Angry Crashed my TSX

I crashed my 06 TSX today; I am ok, thank god. The body shop is estimating 8-10k in damages, it sounds a little high to me. When I can figure out how to post the pics I will, if anyone can help me with posting the pics let me know.

Ugh -- that makes me queasy just lookin' at it. I'm glad you're okay though. You're not the only one with a recent mishap though, as you probably know. I (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35215), and at least a few others on here, have experienced similar incidents recently.

And yay! -- mine just might be fixed by Friday!

I was in the median making a left turn, there was a very large SUV waiting to merge in to traffic. The previously mention SUV was blocking my view of on coming traffic, not to mention they, were in the medial incorrectly, not allowing me to pull around to their drivers side. So I was on their passenger (incorrect side) and pulled out and BOOM my car said hello to a lovely 07 Nissan VERSA that he just purchased 1 week ago. Not much damage on his car, just his wheel looked like was about to fall off. Mine on the other hand; well you can see the pictures. We both received tickets, me for failure to yield, and him for speeding. I went to the hospital for neck and back pain, but the meds are keeping me fine.

That’s what I was thinking, the body shop tech I broke some beam, and blah blah blah. He said at its current state its around 6K but once they open her up, the damage is likely to go up to 10K. I said well if does end up being 10k I’d like to see exactly why. In these pictures you can really see it but, the drivers’ front wheel, the area above that is also crumpled in. I’ll post more tomorrow when I get the formal written report.

more than that.. Its going to require to replace the both headlights, hood, front bumper, grill, fenders, and frame damage (if there is one).

Okay the A/C condenser is damaged, should I accept and aftermarket one? One is available, they said if I wanted the Acura one, it could take longer and it could cost more. What do you think?

if you have insurance why the question? get it back to factory state. plus if the bill goes higher its not your tab. tho you might not be close enough for a total

Should be fixed in 3 1/2 weeks, once its fixed I think I am going to trade it in for the RDX. The car won’t be the same after the accident. While my car was in for service (15days) around Thanks giving and around Christmas (5days) and once again around New years (6days). I was in a RL for a couple of days, and then was in the RDX, and I really like. Will see what happens once my car is fixed. Right now my insurance company has me in a Jeep Cherokee even has the AUX outlet so I can listen to my iPOD, they have a MB C class coming in Friday with my name on it.

Long story, basically their was a rattle in the sunroof area when they replaced the sunroof rail a machine got away from the tech and made two large dents in my roof, from the inside pushing out. Most of the time in the shop was fixing the dents and trying to figure out where the rattle was coming from.

you do not want to accept any aftermarket parts. They are cheaper and they depreciate your car even more. Plus if you do decide to keep the car and get into another accident they will see your aftermarket part and then try to nickel and dime you on everything, and try to replace more things that are aftermarket so it will be a cheaper bill for them. Plus if you were in another accident the insurance company would not replace that with a OEM part sense its previous state was not OEM.

Anytime youre in a wreck, and its insurance paying, replace everything with OEM.

Also you should have them pay you cash for the depreciation of the car. The car is now worth less even though it has been fixed to previous conditions since it has a wreck on its record and you should be compensated since you will recieve less when you sell than you would with no accident on the record.

The body shop says StateFarm will have to approve the OEM compressor. The lady at the body shop says StateFarm is the best company to deal with on getting factory parts for everything except about 5 parts, which StateFarm see as if I had to replace it outside of the accident, I would probably opt for the aftermarket one. Everything else being replaced is OEM. StateFarm has been great, hopefully they won’t cancel me or jack my rates up, this is my first accident, never filed a claim in the 14years I’ve been with them.

The aftermarket parts is total B.S. IMO. You buy a new car with OEM parts. you expect the same. All insurance companies should be required to tell you that the will that they will use non OEM parts when available, and offer an umbrella coverage that mandages OEM parts. They would probably make a killing off of doing so.

By the way Sterling Auto body is owned by either All State, or State Farm just to let people know.

My baby should be fixed Friday or at the lateset Tuesday and with all OEM parts. Thinking of trading it in for the RDX, the sales manager said he would sell me any 2007 for invoice, because of the past service issues I’ve had. Maybe I’ll keep her and trade my X5, just need to get it back from Cali.

Got my car back today, and I am not happy. It will have to go back for additional repair.
1. Paint job was not done well
2. The hood is not flush with the side
3. Large gap between the grill and where the hood meets only on 1 side
4. Bumper and right fender are not flush
The list goes on…….

So basically you attempted the turn even though you couldn't see the oncoming lanes? You should at least inch forward until you can see, which will allow oncoming drivers to slow or swerve.

Anyway, I hope you get your car fixed. The TSX's front end is one of my favorite sides, and it'd suck if it looked goofy like how you describe yours

#2, 3, 4 will be a bitch to fix

too late now but you could have bought headlights off ebay for like $150 ~ 200
instead of buying from stealership for $700 and pocket the difference
