(tried search, couldn't find... )

In my 06:

When I leave the car with the lights still switched on, they'll switch off after an amount of time that can be adjusted in the MID.

When I come back to the car, and unlock with the fob as I'm walking to the car, the lights come on (after the parking lights finish blinking), but they shut off before I even get to the car. And it's not like I'm opening the car from a block away and walking slowly. There seems to be no adjustment for this in the MID.

Anybody had the same experience? Know how to make the delay longer?

 

really? weird... mine stay on for a while... i'd say about 30 seconds... are you sure it's not the same time period for both when you shut the car off and when you unlock the car?

try extending the time it takes for them to shut off in the MID and see if that changes anything...

 

hrm...i know what u mean. I thought increaing the time it shuts off when u turn it off is the same as when u unlock it?

 

Doesn't seem to be.

At it's current setting (whatever the max time is), I can leave my car and walk all the way across my parking lot before the lights turn off.

When I come back, I don't unlock the doors until I'm just a few car lengths away, and yet the lights turn off just as I get there.

 

That does sound strange, mine stay on for quite a while as well, id say 30 seconds, until it autolocks.

 

excuse my newbie=ness but what is the MID.. is that like the MFD on other cars (multi function display)

 

Yup, Multi Info Display. It's a big two color dot matrix display between the speedo and tach on the 06s.
