Comptech Short Shifter rust?

So I am in receipt of my Comptech Short Shifter kit. Upon opening the package the box it arrived in. I notice the adapter piece is discolored, not sure what it is from.

Anyone else receive one like this?

Pic to come - need to locate somewhere to host them

I was originally going to leave it sealed close, but in order to take better pics I had to open the packaging.

I could e-mail them to you, if you would like.

So far I have called Comptech to see what they say and I contacted the vendor where I purchased this from to see what they say as well. This is was obvious through the packaging so why would they bother sending it out, which is one of the reason why I would like to have kept it sealed to avoid them saying I caused this some how

Trust me, if you have the packaging, they will warranty it. They know when you bought it via the invoice and with the rust in that amount of time.... it will be very obvious. I would let them know you wanted to take pics for evidence. Comptech warrantied my exhaust after it started to rattle 2 weeks after I put it on. By the time they sent me a new exhaust, I had it on the car for about a month. Comptech has EXCELLANT service IMO. Just deal with them and let them know who you bought it from and when. They'll probably want the pics to.
