Chrome chipping off grill

I washed my car yesterday and found an area of chrome chipping off the grill. It's about 3/8" in diameter. Has anyone else had this happen? It doesn't look like a stone chip. The chrome is simply missing.

I think the term "chrome" is a bit of wishful thinking for parts of our grill. The soft plastic middle part of the grill is probably coated with a mylar-like substance. Every time I wash the front, I keep thinking about how cheap the grill is...

THat same thing happened to my mothers '01 CL. She never brought it in since it didn't bother her, but when I wash her car, it really gets on my nerves!

Yeah I know. I used the term "chrome" generically. I posted looking for a trend but evidently it's not a big problem with TSX's.

Give it a year or two. The volkswagen interior that all the car mags rave about started to decay about three years into ownership of my Passat.

I'm starting to learn the difference between quality and reliability and endurance...:P
