Center Console Creaking Question

Center Console Creaking Question

my center console creaks when i slowly turn when backing out of my garage. its a 90 degree turn into the alley so it must bend the car. is that safe?

Safe? How would that be unsafe? Do you by chance have a 5AT? Does the creak seem to come from the gear shift selector or higher up on the console?

I have the same creaking.....trying to figure out exactly where it is coming from.

btw, i have a 5AT

I had the same creak in my 05 5AT. I used wd-40 around the shifter console and it is now gone.

That's the faster way to do it I guess. It's the trim ring around the gear selector rubbing against the console cover. I just pulled it up and put felt tape in between.

I haven't had the creaking coming from the console but I get it from the moonroof and the rear deck when turning. Both are easy fixes, but I am just too lazy to take it to the dealer for those minor items.
