Center A/c Vent

Two of the vent slats in the center dash a/c vent were broken. I've ordered the replacement part ($48). One dealer says the part just pops out, then pop the new one in. Another says the WHOLE dash must be removed. Has anyone had this experience? Do you know how to easily/cheaply remove/replace this?

That happened to me as well when I had my 6th Gen accord and I had to replace the whole center dash. It was integrated together. Hopefully the TSX is not built the same way.

I'd left Home Depot with an 83' closet rod between the seats. Had a left turn arrow, & just as I began the turn, a guy in the oncoming lane (red light) decided to "go for it". I hit the brakes, the car stopped, but the closet rod didn't. It went into the left side of the A/C vent, breaking 2 of the slats. Nobody but the car's owner would notice...had less than 500 mi on it at the time

Do you have navi or non-navi? For navi it looks like the piece might be intergrated from the pics in these posts from another thread:

Hey maybe flopez could tell you since he hasn't installed this yet.

Damn, that sucks. I'd get the plate of the other car and send 'm a bill. Of course, that's often hard to do.

I've taken my factory HU out before and it's all one piece.

Can you post a pic of the damage? Hopefully there will be away to to just replace the pieces that are broken without taking the entire thing out.

If you need to take the whole thing out, let me know though. I can help you out.
