car shaking

hi, just last week, i noticed that my car shakes and vibrates consistently while i was driving on highway or road. wondering why? the car has only about 800km. it seems to be like tire or wheel issue. i got headaches after i drove home that night due to all the shakes after got off the highway. and it feels fine the next day i drove the car. why does it happen? anyone has the same experience?

does it only happen when you go over about 90 km/h???

possibly snow in the rims... happened to me...

just clean out the snow and should be good as new...

If no snow then maybe one of the wheels is way out of balance.

yeah, probably, there's quite some snow on the street on that day near my place. but i am not sure if i got snows in the rim or not. but it seems like it's probably the case. the car runs fine the next day i drove it.

If your new tires have flat spots, it's cause the pre-delivery inspection guys locked up your tires: )

I suspect a wheel balancing weight fell off?

Bring it back to your dealer since it's still under warranty and have them check it. The wheels probably needs to be rebalanced!!! If that's the case than you should bitch at them how you paid for PDI but it doesn't seem like it was done at all.

Unhappy wheel/tire vibration

hi

for sure the cases are many..........

what i can say from practical experience is the factory MICHELIN rubber is not the greatest(just my own opinion). the design uses alot of nylon, and yes, will "flat spot" simply from the car sitting way too long.

this usually works it's way out the more you drive.

as well, dealer's doing really poor PDI'S is a verified issue with ACURA.

i picked my car up,the washer fluid was empty(no big deal),shipping plastic here and there, etc...... and the tires were all set at 42 psi (note: tire pressures are set high at the factory to avoid flat spotting)

nothing like paying for a PDI done by the invisible lot guy!!!!

If it seems abnormal... bring it to your dealer just to be sure it's nothing serious.

Um, no, they don't. Keep that kind of posting up, and I'll take away your talking priviledges for the day.

The tires are set at high PSI (over 40 instead of 32 front/30rear) for transit purposes and to prevent flat spotting. This person probably has tire imbalances unless the tire pressures are seriously low.

Go to your dealer, have them test drive it, and let them figure it out. This is an easy one.

And tell them to give you 4 new tires.

We just got 8 inches of snow here overnight, and mine started to do the same thing: significant shaking and vibrating at highway speeds. The funny thing is it hasn't happened before following earlier snowstorms. I am hoping it is only snow related and will go away soon on its own or with a little bit of manual snow search-and-removal.

Remove snow from wheel wells as much as possible. It can get stuck in the rims which is trickier. No more snow, no more shake.

If you get snow in there that's stubborn, take a hose and hose it down.

J/K...
Dont do that, it'll freeze up and become ice.
