Car jerks

Hello everyone,

I have a 2005 TSX, automatic. Lately, I've noticed my car is jerking when I am slowing letting off the brakes. For instance, when I am inching up during traffic or at a stop light, I have the brakes engaged but not fully. In other cases where I accelerate normally, I don't have this issue.

Anyone have any idea where to start looking?

Warped brake rotors can result in uneven brake pad release, or possibly a sticking caliper pin is causing rough action. Inspect brake rotor runout and caliper pins.

good luck

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. I recently replaced both rotors and pad in the front and just pads in the back.

The jerky feeling is very similar to what I felt when my ignition coils went back.

Have a scan to look for misfire counts and see if a particular cylinder is indicated. No check engine light?

good luck

If that's your gut feeling for the hesitation, then I would say check the "bang" part of the combustion engine cycle. Spark plugs, 02 sensor, and/or bad gas? I'd look at replacing any of those based on your mileage and maintenance schedule.

Kinda hard to assess with a butt diagnosis and no check engine codes.

Or as the other poster indicated, double check your brake job.

Sounds to me more like some engine/trans mounts going bad. Mine is doing nearly the same thing, have all mounts ready to put in.

The TSX only has 6 motor/trans mounts to go bad at least...
