Can't get homelink to work!
I think i have a rolling code system. anyone has any experience with getting homelink to work? it picks up the signal from my transmitter, but it doesn't operate the garage door.

Did you follow the instructions in the manual and do the code synch using the push button on the opener unit? I had to try it a couple of times before it worked. It wouldn't work on the left button but after several tries the center button finally got it going.

Just programmed my new house's garage openener this weekend, it was pretty simple...i have a crafstman opener, just pushed the "learning" button for a few seconds till an led came on, then pushed the homelink (used the left one) till the opener flashed its lights..the rest is history.

Mine is a Genie brand also, although probably an older model (approx. 4-5 years old). It does have the security code rolling feature. Keep trying, it HAS to work.

I just moved and re-programming the homelink was easy. I didn't have to push a button on the opener, just the remote. I think that means the opener is not the rolling-code type.

OK..finally got mine to work! It's a Sears Craftsman rolling code system. All you have to do is to learn the remote first and then press your homelink button together with the garage opener learning button a few times. :-) My mistake was erasing memory after realizing that it was a rolling code. i should have kept the signal learned from the remote. hope this helps.

Have any of you guys programmed the homelink to unlock your front door? According to my owners manual, my front door can be homelinked. I just dont think there is enough singal from the driveway to my front door.

Just installed new Genie opener with no problems for Homelink. Good directions in the manual and the longest part of the process was walking from the opener to press the learn button to the car where I pressed the Homelink. FWIW, I programmed my #1 button for a rolling code with no problems whatsoever.
