A/C Questions

Hey,

Anyone notice that the RECIRCULATION and the AUTO button cannnot goes on together ? However, mine comes on together some times. Anyone notice if their have theirs being turned on the same time? My TSX comes with a Navi. Hope someone can sheer some lights because it really bugs me to believe there is something wrong.

i dont have a navi but i think it depends on the temperature you set for the auto.

for example, lets say the temperature in the car is 75. if i set the auto temp to 'lo-low 60s', the recirculation is always on when auto is on. but if i set the auto temp to high '60s-70s', the recirculation is off when auto is on.

Right. If in auto mode and your car is very hot, it will turn on recirc to try and quickly lower the temp of the car.

In auto mode the a/c system determines the quickest way to reach the set temperature. Once the desired temperature is reached the system will adjust to the easiest way to maintain the temperature. If while the system is in auto mode you try to adjust anything other than the temperature the auto mode is disengaged. This what is happening to you when you try to engage recirculation.

I never liked this feature. I like to keep it in recirculate a lot of the time (due to my allergies). The pollen filter is only modestly effective at keeping out grass and other irritants. But, beause I like to let the automatic A/C do all the work, it is rarely in recirculate.

if i remember correctly, the A/C is always on in Auto, what about non-auto when i turn on A/C in non-auto model and set temp to 25C when outside is 32C? !! does A/C(compressor) always on?

Here's an interesting note:

If you set the A/C at 70 in Auto mode and it's really hot out, the "recirc" button is lit. If you manually deactivate the recirc, the system is still in a semi-automatic mode. That is, you can still adjust the temperature up and down, which will affect the fan speed.

I haven't noticed yet, but once the car cools down to your set temperature, does the "recirc" function deactivate automatically? I've only noticed that if the interior temp is much higher than your set temp, recirc is on, but if the interior temp is close to the set temp, recirc is off... but this is upon initial startup only.
