a/c compressor has a crack

Wife has 2004 tsx. The other day she was driving with the a/c on and notices a burnt smell coming out of the a/c vents. She turned off the a/c and waited until I got home. I check around and didn’t see anything funny. Then I check if there was any pressure on the H/L hoses none. So I said lets add a can of red R134 to see if there is a leak. Well after I filled the line my brother & I notice and red blob under the car. Followed it right to the compressor & found a crack on the a/c compressor. what to do

Seems like an open and shut case. Hopefully there are no other issues with the rest of the A/C system (read the other A/C threads in this section).

If it were me, I'd find out what else might be damaged. In some other cases, metal shards contaminated the entire system and ended up being very costly.

Directions to upload pics should be in the FAQ section. But basically you go to photobucket.com or flickr.com, upload the pic there, then copy and paste the IMG URL into your post on AZ.
