A/C coming out inconsistent / Fan noise
I have a manual '06 TSX and have been noticing something strange about my a/c lately. If I put the A/C on the auto or manual setting, I've noticed a weird fan noise coming from the passenger side. The noise seems to be around where the glove box is, or possibly closer to where your feet would be. Also, when I turn on the car and the A/C is on the manual setting, it will blow out fast, then slow down, then blow fast again causing it not to be consistent with the fan speed that has been selected. It seems to get less noticeable when I drive, but the air speed is never consistent and the fan noise is always present.
I took my car to the dealership and they replaced the in car air filter but that didn't seem to help. Any thoughts on what this can be?? If it helps, I'm in AZ and it's consistently above 100 degrees.

I got in my car the one day and noticed that the fan was making a lot more noise than usual. Turned out that the problem was that one of the vents on the dash was pointed all the way to the left and only half open, as soon as I centered it and opened all the way everything went back to normal - nice and quiet. I must have moved it while cleaning.

It's very easy to get a the blower but you will need a Torx screw driver (they look like a six pointed star). You need to first pull the black plastic cover off the top of the passenger side foot well. There are 3 or 4 friction clips along the front and just pegs in the back. Pull the front straight down, it'll be really hard the first time because of corrosion on the metal clips. Once the front is free pull the piece straight out towards you.
You will now be able to see the bottom of the blower. It's the round thing with the wires going into it. Disconnect the wires at the boot and remove the three Torx screws holding the assembly in. After that it drops straight down.
Installation is straight forward and is the same as removal done backwards. With the plastic cover, put the pegs on the back into the holes then push the front up until the clips are seated. The whole process takes 10 minutes at most.

^^ the man sounds like he knows what he's doing.
Here is a pic.
If you remove the cabin filter then you can shine a light in there to see if there is some sort of obstruction you can see.

I know because I had just had to fix my condensation drain being plugged up and over a gallon of water getting backed up into the vents. Fun times.
Honestly it's so easy to remove the blower and you get so much better access to the area that I wouldn't even bother trying to go in from the top via the filter slot. The part labeled "3" in the above diagram is the blower assembly. When it's out you get an approximately 10 inch opening to work with plus the blower will be right there in your hands. The filter slot is about 12 inches by 2 inches and the blower is around a corner.
