Brakes dragging or binding?

I'm a rookie to brakes. Last night, I replaced my rear brake pads and rotors. I spun the hub and it moved freely. Then I depressed the brake pedal a couple times, then check the hub again and it was making rubbing sounds (shh ... shh ... shh ...).

I followed the service manual for the most part (didn't the specified grease) and took a peak at some posts for similar issues, but the solution is not obvious yet.

What do you think may be causing the rubbing?

When you depressed the brake pedal, it caused the piston to come into close contact with the pads. It's normal, as long as it's not binding forcefully. Rotors are not always perfect, and the sounds that you hear are from the pads scrubbing the uneven spots on the rotor.

This seems to happen a lot with new rotors. The surface finish isn't smooth. Should go away over time. Drive the shhhhh out of it and after a while it won't make any noise
