Bluetooth woes with Sony Ericsson...

Alright I searched and found a few threads on this about issues with the HFL and sony ericsson phones...

Heres the deal...it pairs correctly and I see the battery meter and signal strength on the readout. I can make the first call out on the car but when I try to make the second car it automatically transfers it to the phone and when I try to pick the option to transfer sound back to the bluetooth headset (the HFL system) it says bluetooth connection failed. It doesn't give me the option of asking me if I want to pick it up in the phone or in the car...and it did the first time I paired it up. But it only leaves it there for like one ring and it assumes that I want it in the phone.

I've about had it with this phone. I'm about to change to another phone that will pair up and work nicely with my HFL system. My treo 750 had issues too but I was getting rid of that phone already and my sony w800i is about to be retired as a phone soon because of this. If anyone can give me any ideas on this it'd be great. I've tried howardforums already but nothing from there yet and since its a car specific thing it might be more helpful here.... I'm gonna also make another thread about the phones people use after I use the search feature of course....thanks for the help ahead of time....

Have you tried updating the firmware? The SE800 isn't listed as being compatible with the HFL, but it is worth a shot. FWIW, I have an 810i and it works perfectly.

Yeah I read about the firmware update and others that have gotten the w800i to work with the HFL. Problem is the usb connection between my phone and the computer isn't as good as it should be so the update software has problems detecting it. But its good to know that the w810i works good with it. I might just pick one of those or the RIZR up. Thanks for your input...

Sony Ericcson is one of the manufacturers whose product tends to be fully compatible with our bluetooth. I've been meaning to switch to another manufacturer, but haven't done so because their stuff aren't fully compatible.

And yes, I do think a firmware update might be in order. My last SE phone stopped working after it updated itself. I installed the previous firmware update, and my SE phone started working again.

I already tried updating but the update software keeps failing. I think my quick connector is too worn to update. I'm just gonna buy another sony ericsson. Probably a K800i I am thinking anyway...

Well my firmware isn't up to date. Because my older T610 works fine and the w800i had worked with my friend's bmw too.

I have the K800i and the connection with HFL is flawless. Only time I think I'm having problem is when I lose reception in certain areas but it just reconnects again afterwards.

you lose bluetooth connection due to reception? Or are you in a phone call, and then it auto-dials when you lose reception?
