Battery light and Airbag light cause (?)

Once in a while my "Battery" light comes off for a second -like in a stop light, for instance- it only occurs once in a while. Then, the Airbag red light comes on at times and stays on until I turn off the car. Then if I turn car back on it's gone.
No problems whatsoever with the seat buckle and its light.
Any thoughts?

BTW-Mechanic said that alternator is perfectly fine.

I had this symptom on a Acura 2.5 TL and had a loose rubber bushing in harmonic balancer. Check for slippage w/ a radial mark across bushing onto outer pulley. Any rotations movement of part of mark indicates slippage.

Loose worn brushes might also cause intermittent alternator fault.

good luck

Ouch, you are way over my head, Texas. Are you talking about the drive belt? That one is brand new and it squeaks a bit in the morning. Are you talking about that slipping and marking? Where is that rubber bushing in the engine??

Sorry, i want to make sure I understand you well

I had a simliar problem on my 06 TSX...and after Acura replaced the alternator, (under certified warranty), it still occurred. They were mystified.

Finally, I found a thread here about this problem and it discussed corrosion in OEM negative (ground) battery cables...

You could try cleaning the battery cable connection points...but I went and bought a new one from Autozone for $10 and installed it. --That was it! The old, corroded cable was causing a loss of power.

Try it; it's a cheap, easy thing to try -- and is good to do, regardless.

Thanks a lot for the repies. I am going to try changing the negative cable. If it doesn't do it, I'll have to hire a translator to decipher TexasHonda's message

Rubber bushing is part of crankshaft pulley/Harmonic balancer. It's between the outer pulley which drives accessory belt and inner drive connected to crankshaft. It can become worn/loose and cause slippage of pulley and lack of drive to accessory belt. This will cause strange symptoms.

Good call to clean/tighten battery cables.

good luck

I am going to try this. I also discovered that the airbag light might be coming off because of the seatblet buckle. It did not do it before, but now, sometimes the seatbelt light does not appear when I un-buckle... Now, the light are not on all the time, so I don't know if the dealer will need to replicate this in order to fix it -and I don't know if tehy'll do it for free. Will have to call them -is Hendrick in Charlotte

If your seatbelt light is not coming on after undoing the buckle, that's likely the cause.

I had that issue come up recently, too. The dealer found the code and replaced it under warranty, (lifetime for seatbelts.)

Update. The other day I unbucled and the "seat belt" light did not came on.. So, I think this might be the issue after all. Now...The airbag light doesn't stay on all the time and the seatbelt light doesn't malfunction all the time. Will they try to replicate this at the dealer? Or should I wait until it gets worse???

I had the same issue with my 2005 TSX where the SRS light came on intermittently and the seat belt light did not function correctly. Get the dealer to change the seat belt buckle assembly. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS. Seat belts and their assembly are covered forever, whether or not your car is out of warranty.

The dealer will try and replicate the issue. Buckle your seatbelt, and then unbuckle it. See if the indicator lights turn on/off accordingly. If the dealer denies replacing the seat buckle, have them put it in writing.
