Battery Ground Cable

Im changing the battery ground cable on my 06 tsx and i wanted to know was there any precautions that i should take. I've changed a battery before but never the cables. Any advice?

FYI: I'm changing the ground cable because my electrical stuff(radio, MID, etc) keeps flickering on and off when i drive.

Before you change it completely, try taking it off and scrapping off BOTH ends for any rust or paint. Especially the part that is connected to the body (not connected to the battery) Try to scrape the paint and make it smooth. scrape it down to the primer. Then see if that improves things.
