Basic Maintenance Advice

I just hit 30,000 miles on my 06 (I don't drive much) and I have been getting ripped off by the dealer up to this point having my oil changed and tires rotated. I want to take it somewhere else this time to save $. I live in an apartment and can not do any of this myself on the street, so I have to unfortunately go somewhere.

1. What maintenance should I do at 30,000 miles?

2. I'm guessing changing the oil, rotating the tires, changing the air filter (if that is necessary) are all pretty basic stuff on this car? Is that true? In other words, can I take it to a place like Jiffy Lube, or should I be looking for something in particular in a place I bring it to?

Thanks.

I would say oil changes and tire rotations, air filter (if necessary) like you said. I go to a local Honda dealer. They do it for considerably less than Acura.

We take our truck to the jiffy lube near us. They have a window that allows you to watch what they do. They are actually very good-do not have a problem with them. I still take my 06 tsx to the acura dealer for service. In my travels I have gone to a honda dealer for oil changes. They cost more than what acura charged me. I follow the maintenance minder but I also drive a lot more than you. My car has almost 110,000 problem free miles.

Don't forget the brake-fluid. You need to change it every 3yrs regardless of miles. If you have a 6MT, I'd do the MT fluid just to do it.

I agree. when my 06 tsx was 3 years old I had both the brake and MT fluids changed.

2006 and newer TSXs have a maintenance minder which gives you direction of needed service. There are no service intervals specific to mileage (except changing spark plugs at 105k miles) that I can think of right now - so no 30k miles specific service.
