a badassss door ding

my 06 recieved a prettty bad door ding and made a 0.5" diameter dent ! not that deep but it's visible under light and when the car is clean. i would like ot know the best and the most efficient way to get my door back to normal instead of buying a new door. should i bring it back to the dealer; are they going to do anything other than sending it to a detail shop and charging me 3x as much? Or should I just bring it to a detail shop and have them fix it instead? i don't know if i should trust those shops though.

thanks and i'm not so sure what i sholud do just yet.

contact a dent removal service. Your dealer can probably get in touch with one.

^^^I second that! Don't go to a detail shop or body shop for it, you can probably get a professional dent removal for 75.00 or less

If your door ding is down to the "metal" as you say (I'm assuming you mean paint damage) then many paintless dent repair guys won't do the repair. I've had this problem before.

I told the paintless dent repair guy to do it and he said it would be "wavy" because my dent was also about 10 inches long and 4 inches wide. It turned out to be wavy but it looked a lot better than before. And the paint damage was still there. It was still worth it not to get the whole door replaced for a lot more $$$. BTW, this was on a GMC sierra...so glad to have a car now! especially the tsx

When you get there before he opens park right in front of his shop roll-up door so your first in line.

If they say that they won't do the repair because of the paint damage, just tell them you want the panel back to as flat as possible and you'll get the paint damage repaired or touched up elsewhere. Just don't expect it to be as good as new. Most of them take pride in their work and won't do work where they can't get it back to perfect 100%.
