Automatic Transmission Problem?

well, I bought a 06 tsx Auto new about three weeks ago. And I noticed that everytime I drive my car, as soon as i start it -warm the engine for about a minute of course - and put it in D, it abrutly changes gear and kinda makes a grinding noise in the transmission when i apply gas. Is this normal for a tsx with about 1000 miles on it? or am i the only one? I am becoming worried, since my car came with about 100 miles on it.

sounds like the abs testing. it only happens after starting the car, and putting it into drive, right ?

I don't think that's ABS testing. I've never heard a grinding noise on my 04 AT. Better get it checked out.

It is NOT ABS testing.

Read the manual guys...

that sound is normal for TSX. the ESP system is checking/testing itself when the car starts and begins to move.

I don't have the grinding sound coming from my transmission. Must be something wrong with mine then...

there is a pamplhet type of colored guides in the car manual case.

look at the spiral note type "quick guide" manual, it clearly states the working of ESP.

Isn't VSA and ABS testing a clunk and not a grind? I'd get the dealer to check it out. Reproduce it for them.

TSX has ESP?

This has been discussed before ans consensus was ABS testing or resetting.

yes it's more like a clunk.

and yes, TSX HAS ESP(VSA)

FYI: ESP=VSA

Yeah I know..i was just being technical.

ESP is trademarked that's all.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electro...bility_Control

I think ECS is more of a general term.

ESP is Mercedes' term. Electronic stability program.

I prefer VSA, it makes more sense. Vehicle stability assist.
