Anyone still have the squeak/creak aft. clutch replacement?
Just curious whether anyone with 6MT who had the squeaking/creaking/rubbing/groaning sound when coming out of first, and has replaced the orig. clutch with a new OEM piece, has had the problem return. I'm thinking of doing this, but not if there's a chance of the problem recurring. If it wasn't for the sound, I wouldn't bother. My orig. clutch is still in great shape at 75K mi., engages positively and stays in every gear, no slippage, and I haven't babied it. That sound, though, is worse than fingernails on a blackboard. Seems to happen most often when coming from a standing stop facing uphill, when the clutch is under load/torque.
Reverse is a different story, as it's now difficult to engage at times. Anyone with that issue? I'm thinking a new reverse gear when I go in for the clutch. That and the Fidanza flywheel.
