Anybody get the 2nd gear grind when shifting in high RPM"s???

Usually when you get grinding shifting into gears at high RPM's on Honda Trannies it means that the synchros are worn. This doesn't mean that your tranny is going to fail. If you delay your shift alittle it shouldn't grind.

The TSX doesn't grind, but the 1-2 shift is a little difficult at times and like the RSX it gets worse with the cold weather. Never had a grind shifting at high rpm from 1-2 though. I have had a small grind for whatever reason while shifting SLOWLY from 3-4.

i get the grind going to second when i shift wile turning.. i thought it had to do with the vsa because that is the only time i have a problem shifting.. 90% of the time when shifting into 2nd i chirp 2nd and with the vsa off i have chirped 3rd...

It happens to me, but fortunately not often. Especially when powershifting, but sometimes during normal driving. When it's normal driving, it happened when I was kinda tired. Usually 2nd gear, but sometimes 3rd. I've been driving Honda/Acura stick-shift for about 10 years now, and it seems like a Honda/Acura thing.

Its from abuse, plain and simple. Yeah, some manual transmissions shift better and are built tougher than others, but most normal MT's for street cars wont like to be shifted past 7000 rpms. The parts are too light to hold up under drag racing type abuse. Hell, ask Mitsubishi how many EVO VIII trannies theyve replaced under warrantee, and those are built pretty tough.
You can use better tranny fluid for better protection. The NEO RHD is preffered by the guys trying to hold a tranny together behind 400-500 hp AWD Mitsubishis.

When I shift, I always ease up on the throttle while putting out the clutch. After the gear change, I step on the gas while letting up on the clutch. So I'm not shifting at high rpm. I don't mean this as a criticism of anyone's driving style - it's just how I was taught and I don't get grinding sounds when I shift.

Since day one I have had that "problem"
The dealer told me that "the problem could not be duplicated under normal driving conditions". .... uh duh... when i dropped it off I said quick shifts @ high rpm...
so anyone build beefy trannys for our TSX yet?
