anti lock brakes

Has anyone felt their anti-lock brakes come on while slowing down at low speeds?

I was going about 30mph and saw the yellow coming 1/2 a block away so i start to slow down then i feel a kick back on the brake pedel which is the anti-lock brakes kicking in. The only other time i felt that was when it was rainning and i went from 70-30 on the highway and had to brake hard for some guy wo changed lanes without signaling.

Uneven surface/ground, or bumps will cause the abs to kick in, even u are slowing down in a gentle way.
