Airbag Sensor

Hello,

I just replaced my TSX's front bumper due to some minor damages. How do i make sure if the airbag sensors are working properly? (Please do not tell me to hit the wall at 30 mph ). I just affaid the sensor was attached on the old bumper and never transfered to the new one. Please advice. Thanks.

The only way I cna think of to test it is to have someone plug in the Honda scan test tool with the Air Bag option.

It's an accelerometer. Ther's one in the bumper and one in the center of the car. If the front one accelerates and the rear one doesn't, the ECU decides that a crunch is occuring. Not a very smart device.

I called my body shop who fixed my car. The guy told me there is no sensor on the bumper and nothing to worry about. I think i should ask my dealer. Just wondering where i can locate the technical drawing of tsx.

Try and hit the wall at 30 mph, if the airbags don't open up, then it means they don't open up...

If there was a sensor missing (open circuit) your SRS light would be flashing.
