Acura Service Bulletin: 04-042 Rattle from A-pillar
I have experienced this rattle problem which sounded like the dash but it was actually caused by the A-pillar molding. The service advisor took approx. 30 seconds to adjust the molding and now no more rattle even under cold temp!

Did they just push on the molding or did they actually add the adhesive to the molding clips as it is mentioned in the service bulletin?

This service bulletin looks like it applies only to 2004 models. Can anyone confirm wheter this A-pillar problem is present in 2005 models also. I have 2005 with 2,600 miles. There were no rattles until about 500 miles when a slight appeared in the center console area. It went away pretty quickly and has not reappeard since.
However, within the past few hundred miles a new rattle has appeared. It sounds like its coming from the passenger side dashboard area. It's present when going over bumps in the road and seems to be louder if its cold or cool. But it is almost always present now and is really starting to annoy me. Any chance this is the A-pillar problem?

I have had the same problem. Only have 560 miles and the thing already has a few rattles; one by passenger dash and one in console. I am already getting buyers remorse after reading this problems section.

And I thought I would go crazy...
Just wanted to say thanks for the TSB on the "A Pillar". I have been having that cracking and creaking noise for the past 5 months now and they said they did not hear it. I have been in stealth mode on this site for awhile but figured this deserved a thank you.

Dropped my '05 TSX off today to get the "A-pillar" rattle symptoms looked at. I showed them the technical service bulletin and they are ordering the clipsto perform that repair. The parts should be in tomorrow and they will should be able to finish that part tomorrow.
I also had them look into the intermittent creaking/rattle sound coming from the trunk area when driving on uneven pavement. A rep just called and said the technician drove it and that the rattle is coming from the license plate. I thought that might be the case last week, so I removed my metal college license plate frame and put the plate back on by itself. That removed the rattle that appears when closing the trunk, but it did not solve rattle/creaking problem I'm experiencing when driving. I was still getting the annoying creak/tapping rattle, which is quite annoying.
So I told the service rep that I don't think it's the license plate. He said he'd pass the message to the service technician. So I dunno....i guess I'll just wait to see what they tell me tomorrow?

I'm taking mine in for a dash rattle this Wednesday. They looked at it before and it sounded like it was coming from the glove box. Anyway, the part just came in.........so we'll see. Hope that fixes the problem!!

I've got an appointment to take it back in tomorrow. The clips for the A-pillar fix were on back order but have now come in. They could not isolate the rear trunk area creak last time I was there, but are going to re-look at it tomorrow.

cconrad - do you have an '05? I picked up my 2005 and when I hit between 75 and 80mph i start to get a rattling noise from the passenger side in the front.. either the dash or up near the visor... if this does affect 05s it sounds like I have it!

Yes, mine is a 2005 with about 1000km on it. The funny thing is after doing the Diagnosis part of the bulletin, I don't get the rattle as much any more, even after removing the tape! I hope this doesn't cause a problem when I go it today to get it fixed; I still want them to put that glue in there and make it permanent.
Slightly off topic, I also get an annoying rattle somewhere from the console area, I think. Does anyone know of a definitive fix for this one? (Point me to the right thread?)

Uh, and furthermore, if they did the fix as documented in the SB, isn't there some glue in there that has set now? It seems like it would be a bad thing to pry it off now, wouldn't it? I suppose I could just tape it down again, like I did to diagnose it in the first place....
