AC Compressor Hiss?

AC Compressor Hiss?
I have been noticing the past couple of months that whenever the AC compressor kicks in there is like a hiss or gurgle that is originating from near the blower motor/behind the glove compartment. Everything seems to be in working order, but was curious as to what this could be, or if it could be a sign of things to come?

Did you ever find an answer for this? I have a similar issue on my 03 CL-S 6MT. With AC on, I get a "cycling" hiss from what sounds like behind the glove.
AC off, sound goes away instantly.
AC is ice cold though, so I'm not that concerned. Or, should I be?
Thanks!

The expansion valve can make a "hiss" noise that varies as the system cycles. To some extent it's normal operation, but it can also be a sign the the refrigerant charge level is a bit low.

That is exactly what it was. Mentioned it when I went for an oil change at the dealer, and the service guy basically said that it is somewhat normal, but they did find that the refrigerant/freon level was a little low. They recharged it for me at no charge, and haven't had a problem since.
