A3 and A13 maintenance minder displays
A3 and A13 maintenance minder displays
Well, the dreaded orange wrench showed up a week ago and the display gives an A3 and (sometimes) an A13 service due. This is at about 44 k miles on my 06 TSX. Has anyone else seen this obvious software bug? And is there a software update available?
OK then - do I do an A3 or an A13 ??? That's my question and I still think there's a software problem - the system should consistently say either A3 or A13 when I start the engine and it doesn't.
Not sure. Does it say anything in the manual about this? If not, I would just call the dealer and tell them what's going on.
My RDX is too new for service yet and this is my first car with the MM, so I don't have any advice for you. My 04 TSX was pre-MM.

The last time I had my 06 tsx serviced was on 9/21. The codes were A125. Most of the time I get A1 but I have also had B12 never had a 3 yet. I did get the manual transmission fluid and brake fluid changed not too long after the car was 3 years old.
I decided to see what would happen as the oil life went past 0% and at that point I saw only A13 which was at about 44,100 miles. I changed the engine oil at 180 miles beyond 0% and reset the MM. I plan to change the transmission fluid soon, but I still think the system was begging for transmission service way too early.
I also called the dealer and described what was happening, and the SA gave me a really incoherent answer which told me she had never heard of the issue before.
So, my question is: At what mileage has your 06 to 08 6-MT requested a transmission fluid change?
The code will vary with your driving habits. If you do mostly city driving or stop and go traffic it will tell you to change the oil/transmission fluid more frequently.
I drain and fill my transmission fluid (1x) every 30k miles. It only costs $15 and have been doing this since I got my first Honda in 97. Is it overkill? Maybe but the color of the fluid has remained red in every vehicle I have owned and I don't have to do the 3x at say 60 or 90k.
