6MT shifter slop/play

Hey guys - im getting a little restless lately, and noticed that my 04 6MT has a little more play in it that it used to, either in gear, or in N...any ideas to get rid of this, and get back to new-ish feel?

Ive already swapped out the cable bushings for brass (speedsource), but that didnt to much for play. I was thinking of the comptech short shifter, but cant see how that would remove any slop.

When im looking under the hood, its almost like there is excess play between the brass plate that holds the cable bushings and the transmission itself...

any ideas?

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm at almost 49k on my 04 6MT. It might just be one of those things. I have the metal shifter cable bushings and shifter housing bushings, as well as the Comptech short-shifter and a Maven shift knob.

I've been considering picking up the Mugen or Spoon short-shifter unit to address this. Any excuse to mod, right?

the stock shifters are plastic. they get sloppy. check clutch fluid and clutch wear.
