6mt 2nd gear shuddering Help Quick!
Ok, I need someone's help and quick. I brought my 06 manual in for them to look at my drivetrain. When I am accelerating, I am getting a shudder in second gear from 2-3k rpms. It is more noticable on slight inclines. When the engine is cold and I am going up a slight incline it almost bounces. Now, I brought this in originally with 6000 miles and the tech noticed it right away and thought it was something to do with the axle. When I got the car back I thought it was fixed but began noticing it again within a week. Since they had the car for a week last time, I really didn't feel like going through it again.
I now have 15k on the car and brought it in again. They are now trying to tell me that it is a "normal" characteristic of this car. I said, it certainly wasn't normal when the tech first drove it and tried to fix something, how is it normal now? She said he replaced an axle but it was still doing it so they called Acura and they said it was normal. They still have my car (I have a loaner) and they want me to come in Monday morning to take a test drive with the tech. I am pissed at this point.
Has anyone ever had a problem like this and what was the resolve. I need any advice at this point. How should I handle this?

I had an '04 and now an '08 - both 6MT. I have NEVER experrienced your problem you are describing. Don't let them shame you inot taking the car back with that problem. Get the regional Mgr involved.

it's a car-drive it
do not have that problem with my 06 with MT. Mine is almost 18 month old, bought new, with 45,000+ miles. Hopefully your problem will be resolved-at least you have a loaner car and they are trying.

additional to above-post (edit time ran out)
just read some of your previous posts-you seem to have quite a few problems with your tsx. Luckily (knock-on-wood) my 06 has been not had any problems-excellent car.

does it happen every time at 2-3k rpm? what about at lower rpm?

It happens only when accelerating in second after the 1-2 shift. It is most noticable on a slight incline with normal acceleration. It does not happen at any other rpm except 2-3k.
The feeling is like its not getting the gas completely, its a smooth front and back motion. The rpms don't bounce, just increase like they are stepping.
It almost feels like a CVT trans when you are accelerating for those of you who have driven one.

See if you can replicate at a speed rather than RPM (e.g. if you can see if it happens in 1st or 3rd gear at the same speed). I'm thinking you are experiencing a CV issue or half-shaft balance issue since it is only on acceleration. It will get progressively if it is the CV. Good news is, there are replacement parts and if you are under warranty still, then its free.

It only does it during acceleration in second gear after the 1-2 shift. It never does it in 1st or 3rd regardless of speed. They called me today and said they are going to replace and axle and have it overnighted from Acura. Doesn't sound like a nice thing to have replaced, but yes, the bill will be on them.
I hope that solves the problem, but for some reason I feel like it has something to do with that clutch I hate so much....worst clutch I have ever driven!

What I was talking about for speed is... look what speed it happens in 2nd gear and then get to that speed, if you can, in either 1st or 3rd gear and accel. Guess it kinda doesn't matter now.

Ok, here was the resolve. They first replaced the right axle. Then the Acura tech line told them to replace the left axle. It seem to have fixed the issue. The whole clutch system is shifting completely different now...for the better. Hopefully it lasts, but seeing how I have had this car in so many times for the transmission I am not counting on it.

Drifting
Mine started doing this a little while ago in between 60-70mph, I can barely feel it if I'm accelerating on a level road but if its an incline it's noticeable. It only happens if I punch it or have to give it a lot of throttle when going up a hill or something like that.

Drifting
Ok I checked my tires and the front driver's side looks a bit newer then the rest, the other three are pretty much bald. I swapped the newer one out for the rear drivers side and did a test drive, the vibration is still there but it seems to be coming from the rear now, because the steering wheel doesn't shake and I just feel it in the seat. Maybe that tire is a little funky in the shape, I dunno. I'm getting new ones this weekend so hopefully that'll do it.
