I have a Navi problem. Has anyone ever seen this (pic below)?

I have tried:
pressing map, menu, and setup.
***result: nothing
cleaning the disc
***result: nothing
unplugging the battery
***result: no radio because i can’t enter the security code...
Take to dealer
***result: minus $120 for diagnosis for them to tell me they can fix and have
to send to manufacturer and will cost $790

I called Alpine they say it would cost $360 or something. Does anyone have any other suggestions that i can try myself or am i screwed?
