2006 oil change question

Help!

My TSX is giving me the Service Minder A "oil life is at 15%". Here's the thing, I just got the oil changed at 6863 miles, it's now at 10190...something can't be right. That means I only drove it 3327 miles since the last oil change. Yes, the dealership reset the computer after servicing the vehicle. Isnt it more like 5-6K for an oil change these days?? Especially with an '06?? I dont know why the oil is getting so dirty so quick. Hope there's a simple explanation for this

I had 10% at 3200 miles. You can either follow the maintenance minder (which simply makes educated guesses on the quality of your oil), or you can follow your own oil change schedule. You can still get alot of miles out of that 15%...

You probably take alot of short drives (well, the last two times I visited Honolulu, I managed to circle around the island...not alot of long trips you can make there). This will make your oil life drop down faster

ohh ok, I see. I was wondering how many miles I could get out of the 15% but I didn't want to push my luck. I'm thinking about following my own schedule. Short drives= yes

alright thanks for the help

Just make sure you get oil changed at least twice a year..

I'm saying this because I only have 16500 on my 2004 TSX
