2005 TSX Cruise Button
2005 TSX Cruise Button
I used to leave my cruise control button on all of the time, but since I moved closer to work I finally just turned off my cruise control button all together a few months ago. Just last weekend, I drove to my brothers house which is 40 minutes away, and decided I wanted to use the cruise control on my way home, but the button wouldn't stay clicked in. When I clicked the button to turn it on, it popped right back out! All of the right clicking sounds were made, but it just wouldn't hold it in.
While holding the cruise button in, and clicking on the SET decel button, the cruise worked just fine, so it is clearly the "on" button that is broken! Has anyone else had any experiences with this? Know how to fix it? ...Or how much it costs for the dealer to fix it?

2004 tsx had the same problem, took the unit apart and it was a broken button. I broke it more so now my CC is always on, which is better than always off. I think the assembly is like $50 or you pull it. seen a few wheels no airbag for sub 50 as well.
First time I've heard of this happening. Anyway, the Switch Assay runs $127 new online. 35880-SEC-A21 SWITCH ASSY., AUDIO REMOTE & CRUISE. I think it's sold as both sides meaning audio controls and cruise. I have no idea if they are sold separately. Best to contact your Acura dealer to see if they can get only the cruise side.
I have the same problem on my 2004 TSX. The thing that I find odd, is that that master on/off button is one that I NEVER use (why would I need to turn the Master off?! All I have to do is hit the brake or not set it in the 1st place if I didn't want to use it). Yet the left side, volume up/down, Mode, track +/- are buttons I use frequently, but they aren't broken. You would think they would break 1st. I'm thinking about just super gluing mine down. It serves no purpose & should be left in the on position all the time anyways. BTW-there ARE several posts with people having the same issue. You can find the part as the whole "Auto cruise control assembly" (which is just the right side buttons:master on/off, set/-, resume/+, cancel) for about $47.
