2004 TSX Idleing problem

I had my TSX about 2 months and it started to idle rough. When I would be at a red light and lightly take my foot off the brake it would studder forward. The dealer had it a month trying to figure it out. Of course there was also the recall on the transmition for the case being out of spec. An entire new transmission was installed per the recall but that had nothing to do with my idle problem. They played with the torque converter and that did not fix the problem. They ended up having to replace the Vtec rocker assy. That fixed the studdering problem. Now when I have the car in drive but am stopped it seems to idle rough! I also can tell it's rough at low speeds when it down shifts. It's never stalled but sometimes it feels like it might! It's going back to the dealer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Rough idle can be caused by many, many, many things (spark plugs, dirty TB, bad PCV, and the list goes on)...and generally a diagnostic tool will help in showing what item may be out of range.

One more thing...always be sure you are using quality gas. You never know whats going into that cheap stuff. And if the delivery truck is at the gas station while you're getting gas go elsewhere. I've heard that alot of gunk gets stirred up in the tanks under ground and even with all of the filtration some can wind up in your fuel system. Who know's......maybe just wild tale from the old days....

Did you ever find out the problem & solution for this? I have an '08 with very little mileage doing the same thing. Taken it to the dealer 3 times and they've done various things but can't find the problem nor fix it.

My car did the same thing, felt like a manual car about to stall out. I cleaned the throttle body with STP tb cleaner around every 10k miles, and cleaned my K&N filter too last weekend and it's smooth now and the rpm seems lower at a light...However I would like to change the PCV valve they are around $3 or so and they help with idle if they are worn out.
