Smile 2004 Acura TSX reliability?

I'm looking to buy an Acura TSX and it's from 2004 and it's a bargain price ($3,000). The leather is real nice and everything seems nice but it has about 250,000 miles and I just basically wanted to know how reliable it still is and if I will encounter any major problems. I'm an 18 year old and I want a reliable car and this car was just perfect for me. Any responses would be great! Thanks in advance.

04's are known for potential problems with the AC, failing center stack lights, warped brake rotors, and fogged headlights. At the mileage of the car you are considering though, your main concern should be maintenance history and making sure all recall works has been done. It has obviously been at least pretty reliable to get to this mileage (I have 205 k on my 04). Get a PPI (pre-purchase inspection) and look over all available maintenance records.

I'm assuming the car is not located in snow belt states. If it is, look for corrosion under the car. To the other poster's point, maintenance records and a pre purchase inspection will go along way. It might be worth conducting a compression test. Check for fluid leaks. Good luck.

The car being 12 years old and having 250k miles on it, how reliable do you expect it to be? I'm not saying that it won't be reliable, but you gotta keep your expectations within reason...

Right?

Plus, when you buy a $3k car, you make some compromises.

If it's been well maintained, it could be a good deal. Even with good maintenance, things still wear out (starters, alternators, radiators, struts, etc.).

If you can DIY, those things are pretty easy/cheap to fix.
